Hot rolled products are produce from the deformation of plates at high temperatures in a hot strip rolling mill. Through the combination of the chemical composition variables the hot rolling thermomechanical process parameters is possible to achieve a wide range of standards and specifications for several market segments and specific uses.
These products are delivered to the market as coils or plates, and are divided by thickness as follows:
Note: Materials commercialized as hot rolled products typically exhibit an iron oxide layer on the surfaces that was naturally formed during the process.
Cold Rolled Sheet Products are obtained from stripped hot rolled coils that have their thickness reduced in a cold strip rolling mill. The steel is severely work-hardened at this stage and recovers the ductility in subsequent annealing processes according to the requirements for mechanical properties and desired surface characteristics. BRACERUM SA. has continuous and high-convection, pure hydrogen box technologies for annealing plates and sheets. The benefits obtained from the use of such technology are high productivity, suitable thermal cycle, homogeneity of the resulting mechanical properties and surface cleaning, ensuring that the cold rolled product will meet standards and specifications for applications in the automotive, home appliances, construction and electronics industries.
Chemical composition, thermomechanical, cold reduction and subsequent annealing allows for the production of different specifications and dimensions of steel.
These products are supplied with natural lamination edges or trimmed, rough surface finish, matte or glossy, usually oiled for protection against rusting.
Pre-painted steel is produced with the coil coating technology, which provides superior performance to the material as a result of the excellent pre-treatment process before painting and uniformity of the applied layer (primer and top coat).
In this process, the material is given a pre-treatment which includes full cleaning and the application of a sealant, ensuring the perfect adhesion of the paint to the steel and corrosion protection. Then, an accurately controlled application of primers and finish coats as well as decorative laminates and protective films provide high quality to product.
The pre-painted product can be purchased in coils or cut in slitters, sheets and blanks. The substrate can be galvanized, Galvalume or cold rolled. The product is available in various colors, always looking forward to cover the needs of our customers.
Pre-painted steel offers a number of advantages, including convenience and durability, according to the needs of each segment. Adding value to BRACERUM’s product, the paint gives an excellent surface finish to the steel, ensuring formability, bringing longer life, quality, aesthetics and reliability.
It also reduces the need of investments and decreases the environmental risks associated with conventional painting line (post painting).
Hot Dip Galvanizing is one of the most effective and economic processes used to protect steel against atmospheric corrosion. The protection of steel by the zinc coating occurs according to two mechanisms: by the barrier protection, possible due to the coating layer, and galvanic sacrificial protection, in the case of simultaneous exposure of the steel-zinc pair for in small discontinuities of the coating. Another important feature of the zinc coating is its ability to bond metallurgically to the base steel by means of an intermetallic alloy layer, thereby forming a fully integrated system. This product can be produced with the same or different zinc coating per side. The thicker the coating, the greater the durability of the plate. Zinc coatings are classified into: pure zinc with regular spangle (GI) and minimized spangle (GI), and zinc-iron alloy (GA).
The application of metallic coatings by the continuous process of hot dipping is one of the most used forms for protection of steel. In this process, the metal strip is continuously immersed in a molten metal bath. Among the metal coatings suitable to the application of the heat immersion process, we can mention the Galvalume alloy.
Galvalume ® is a steel sheet coated with 55% Al-Zn alloy and combines aluminum durability with galvanic zinc protection, providing excellent resistance to corrosion in marine and industrial environments compared to existing zinc coatings on the market, resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and superior thermal reflectivity associated with a pleasant and distinctive look compared to other similar coatings. Its characteristics of formability, weldability and painting ease, associated with its mechanical properties, make it appropriate for applications in several segments.
